Jarun Lake is situated near the Sava river on the southwest part of Zagreb, which hosts a recreational and a sports centre, "Jarun". Away from the crowd and noise of Zagreb city, Jarun Lake has been recreated into a man made oasis of five island pebble beaches measuring 2500 meters. Along with the Jarun Recreation Centre, Sava River also is home to another sports complex, "Sports park Mladost". The highlight of this sports complex are its swimming and water polo pools.
